High Net Worth Individual (HNWI) - To self-certify as an HNWI, you must:

1. Have had an annual net income of no less than £300,000; or
2. Have held net assets of no less than £3,000,000.

Professional Investor - FCA rules state that an individual or firm must meet two of the following criteria:

1. Have conducted transactions, of significant size, on the relevant market at an average frequency of 10 per quarter over the previous four quarters.
2. The size of the client's financial instrument portfolio, defined as including cash deposits and financial instruments, exceeds £400,000.
3. Have worked in the financial sector for at least one year in a professional position that requires knowledge of the envisaged transactions or services.

Sophisticated Investor - To self-certify as a sophisticated investor, you must:

1. Have been a member of a business angels’network for at least six months; or
2. Have made at least one investment in an unlisted security in the previous two years; or
3. Have worked in a professional capacity in the provision of finance to small- or medium-sized businesses in the last two years or in the provision of private equity; or
4. Be or have been, within the last two years, a director of a company with a turnover of at least £1m; or
5. Have previously or are currently acting as a pension trustee, such as a SSAS or SIPP.

Note: SSAS/SIPP investments will need to be approved by the Scheme’s Professional Trustee.
